The short version of how an engagement works. A signed engagement letter governs each client relationship; these terms cover the site and the service in general. Last updated September 15, 2026.
SortKai provides bookkeeping: document intake, coding and posting into your accounting platform, bank and card reconciliation, and a monthly close reviewed and signed by a named person. We do not provide tax filing, payroll, audit, or CFO services, and nothing on this site is tax or legal advice.
Fees are flat monthly amounts sized by document volume, quoted in writing before you commit. A one-time onboarding fee is likewise quoted in writing before you commit. Billing is month-to-month; you can cancel any time, effective at the end of the billing cycle. Your quoted price is held in writing for 12 months.
You keep the intake connections we set up in onboarding available (mailbox sync, portal access, platform access as a named user), and you answer exception questions so the close can land by the fifth business day. Books can only be as accurate as the documents and answers behind them.
Your ledger lives in your accounting platform — a subscription you own, or one SortKai manages that transfers into your name on request. Your documents are filed in a dedicated archive owned and maintained by SortKai, each one attached to its transaction in your accounting platform; if the engagement ends, your complete document archive is handed over to you. Details in the privacy policy.
We stand behind the work: anything we mis-post, we correct at no charge. Beyond that, our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are bookkeepers, not insurers of business outcomes.
If these terms change, the date above changes with them and material changes are emailed to active clients. Questions: info@sortkai.com.
